Round 100: Amnesty

Thank you so much to everyone who has participated in any of our previous rounds!

This week marks our 100th round! \o/\o/\o/

Every 20th round is an amnesty round, meaning you can post icons for any of the previous color palettes.

This amnesty round is going to last for 4 weeks (and we know by now that you'll do fine without reminders ;)). This means the deadline for this round is on Sunday September 4th at 11:59 EDT/EST! (countdown)

Aside from the longer time span, the only other rule for amnesty challenges is that you are allowed to post as many icons as you like. You can do the normal 3 or you can post 33 if you find yourself inspired! You can either do separate posts for every palette or you can put several - or all of them - into one big post, it's up to you. If you do make more than 3, please post them behind a cut.

Please tag your posts with the original round number as well as "round: 100", and either copy the palette code or mention the palette name in your post. I know most of you've done this before, so I hope the rules are clear. If not, feel free to ask!

Because 100 is such an amazing milestone, we'll also have an additional celebratory feature: you can make a color palette yourself, and we will use it in an upcoming round!

This is similar to how you can always suggest color palettes here in the suggestion post, but these palettes have to be made by yourself!

If you want to participate in this celebration, please comment with your self-made palette to this post. One palette per person!

You can make it using colourlovers, or you can simply comment with five colors and I'll pack them into a colourlovers palette, if you prefer. Feel free to tell us what makes that palette special to you, and I'll mention that in the challenge post.

The palettes will all be used eventually - hopefully within a short time. I'll just (as always) have to make sure there aren't too many similar palettes in a row.

I made this palette using the first time the original Glee cast sings "Don't Stop Believin'" as a cooperating group (costuming, instrumentation, choreography, etc.).

The more palettes the merrier! I love that this community is a continuous source of icon challenges. So many others are irregular--including the one that got dropped in abyss_valkyrie's and my laps. That's partly my fault.

I wish I had time to help run more communities right now, but my family is in the process of moving me from my apartment to my mom's house because she really needs an extra set of eyes/someone to call 9-1-1. She is one of those old-school women who doesn't "want to be a bother," or is so used to taking care of everyone else that she doesn't even pay attention when her own body is screaming at her, "I need help!" I just could not see letting her live alone any longer after her last trip to the ER. She's finally agreed, but it took some convincing (largely due to my sister repeating while she was here that she was concerned I'd use Mom like an errand girl like Dad did). Mom and I are working out ways I can help around the house. That's all my sister needs to know. She's the one who moved way out west. (Now I sound like my dad, lol.)

WHOA...where did I think you asked for a family rant? LOL. Sorry. Stressful time. We actually got a lot done today, and I should be happy!

I am a little sad to see that it's not running regularly anymore, too, but I can understand anyone who doesn't have the time to moderate comms. It's a hobby after all, and RL comes first. There's no need to apologize for that. <3 (And abyss did communicate the fact that she didn't have time, so I think that worked out okay.)

This comm here basically got dropped into my lap as well, without notice. I've been trying to contact the mod so I at least get admin rights to it (which I don't actually have right now), because being responsible for a comm without having the technical permissions that go with it ... sucks. But I haven't been able to reach them for months now. :/

I hope your family situation calms down a little so you don't feel stressed all the time. <3

Just like nondenomifan's, my palette is based on a song: African Sky Blue by Johnny Clegg. It's a very upbeat song, and I tried to represent the grounding quality of red earth as well as the depth of the river water, the happiness of sunshine, and the freedom of blue sky - all things he sings about in the song - in this palette:

I'd never made a palette before, but I thought this would be a nice way to honor my friend.

We had a group chat with another friend, and planned to all get the rose from beauty and the beast tattooed, but they were gone too soon, and so the remaining friend and I got ours done. For the palette, I used colors similar to my tattoo's colors <3
