Round 165: Dragon's Lair

Fiddled around with layers this time. Not an easy feat with a touchpad mouse! Original color of sweater was a cadet blue (grey-blue) with navy blue sleeves. I even recolored her eyes because they look brown in the original screencap. :)

Love the soft coloring and bright lighting of this one.

Thank you! Levels and curves tools in GIMP are marvelous things when dealing with dark screencaps--like, say, in a "library." :D

I always work with a touchpad. I find it much easier to draw like that than I would with a regular mouse. (Well, having a pen/tablet would be even easier but alas.)

My touchpad requires pressure to register tracking, so sometimes it registers tracking as a click. It's a pain in the rear. I wish I could use GIMP on my iPad with my stylus--but, then, it doesn't always register and then other times registers when I don't want it to.

omg, that sounds like such a process but I'd say it was worth it- it came out really lovely!! It perfectly captures the palette :D
